Specialized have expanded their 29er range for 2012 and it has got me far too excited. Normal blogging will resume straight after this, I promise!
There are so many great things about Specialized, and I am completely biased having ridden Specialized since I got rid of my Raleigh Max (cool right?)
But the two main points of the the 29er range? I’d say - the bikes are:
RESPONSIVE - short head tubes keep the handlebars low, making the bike agile and easy to handle.
and…
LIGHTWEIGHT - weight has been shaved off the previous models but carbon frames and components make the biggest difference.
They’ve gone for custom RockShox suspension, which are a safe, quality option. With a rigid frame and rear triangle meaning all effort goes into moving forwards it’s an all round brilliant bike. However the prices of some - for example the £7,200 price tag on the S-Works Epic Carbon XTR - suggests they’re well aware of it’s brilliance.
